Lights, Camera, ACTIONS! The Video
Lawrence Lightner recently offered me eternal gratitude for a walk through on actions. So I made a flash video. I figure he now owes me his eternal soul. The rest of you have no such burden. Well, not really. . .
So, rather than doing a simple images and step by step tutorial, I created a simple Flash presentation. I wanted to keep it simple, so I could actually accomplish this and turn it around quickly. I made this in about an hour or so, from first recording (and trust me, I edited it out a lot of bad audio. Mostly me cursing when I screwed up saying something).
It’s pretty simple, but I hope to make more of these, in multiple parts, and much more advanced than this. But I need to know that these videos will actually be effective as a training aid. And I’d like to know that they are a good reason to come to my blog. So here’s what I’m gonna ask everyone to do:
If you like the blog for the content, tell someone you know that doesn’t already know about it. If you like a specific post, please hit the new DIGG button and digg it. And if you like the video, and want to see more, then please leave a comment here, and let me know that you like it, and better yet, what you would like to see more of.
Remember, it worked for Lawrence.
BTW, you may get a dialog box talking about security settings in Flash. Just click ok and move on.

Max – Excellent job with the Actions Video. You’re setting the bar really high right out of the box!

I really liked the actions video. I’m new to Photoshop and it can be very intimidating. Thanks for helping to make things easier.
Awesome tutorial Max, thanks so much. I can’t wait to be good enough to afford that software. I know where I’m coming to learn.
Thanks, Ayden
Well done. Clear and Concise example. Thanks for posting it.
Max,
Nice tutorial, it is nice to see a guy who puts himself out there on many different forums to help people. Your attitude and good advice make up for 50 trolls on any given day. Thank you for sharing not just here but on all the forums you visit as well.
Max,
Great tutorials dude, not only are they quick and to the point, they force users to get into the actions for photoshop and show us that they aren’t that hard to use. PLUS these tutorials open the minds of us users to play around with the some more advanced tools in Photoshop and make our workflow easier and more efficient….
Can’t wait for the next tutorial!
Hi Max!
Thanks for sharing the awesome action presentation. I’m new to CS3, I’m an Elements user, and have always wondered how actions are created. Thanks so much for your time and effort. Look forward to seeing more presentations.
Thank you for this video! I’m fairly new to PS, and I have been trying to figure out how to make my own actions. can’t wait to see more of your videos!
